If you like to rummage to discover a bargain or recycle or simply want something cheap to use a few days while on holiday and then discard, the opportunity shops around town are worth a visit. This Sally Army shop is one of the better ones. Sited in the heart of the university district there is a constant flow of stuff being donated by students and academic families as they move in and out, and it's the closest and largest shop of its kind to the well-healed suburbs of Maori Hill and Roslyn. Prices range from 20 cents upwards.
