Tips from locals
They really know how to make great cocktails. A little hard to find but well worth the search
This is a low key craft cocktail lounge "hidden" behind Cafe Birdie (a great spot for dinner). Access from the back of the space or walk through Cafe Birdie. This stretch of Figueroa offers tons of bars and restaurants and is a great hip neighborhood to visit.
This bar is hidden behind Cafe Birdie and is just as cute as its sister restaurant. Serves really well crafted cocktails but no food. Local favorite! It takes its name from the old signage painted and still present not the side of the building.
My favorite. Not marked, but you can find it! Behind cafe birdie. Walk through the restaurant or through the back alley.
This is a really cool little hidden bar/speakeasy just off of Figueroa. We like to grab a drink here after having dinner nearby. From Figueroa, walk up Ave 57 and turn left into the first parking lot. If it feels like you're in the wrong place, you're there.

Salon / Barber Shop
“This is the newest bar spot in the neighborhood and a new favorite. Access is through the barber shop and only identifiable by the bouncer in a suit who is checking IDs before you enter. Snazzy and funky, this space feels like a time warp to the 70's in the best way! Hipster favorite, good list of beers and great cocktails. Small bar food bites are available as well.”
