A bit of a drive, (1.5hrs from Hotchkiss) this beautiful spot is worth it (recc: ONLY go in summer!) The cooling pools of water among the high desert are relaxing and almost never packed with people. Bring some snacks, drinks, sunscreen & shades and you're set!

The Potholes at Escalante Canyon are a short 45 minute drive away! Go see what nature has created in the river beds. Hike down the canyon wall, to the river base and then follow the river upstream to reach the potholes. This hike took us about 5 hours and the potholes were as smooth as cereal bowls.
