A centry bunker which sits just behind the sand dunes on Balmedie Beach. This is a popular spot for BBQ's and picnics with wooden tables and chairs set into the ground. A popular place for kites and hand gliders.
Just North of Aberdeen, Balmedie has long stretches of sand accessed by paths through the dunes. There are toilets and a seasonal kiosk for coffee or ice cream. A great destination for dogs!
Huge beach with parking nearby. Steep dune climb from North Car Park, easier route is the boardwalk from the South Car Park
This beach is 10 miles from the cottage, Balmedie's sandy beach is part of Balmedie Country Park and way marked as such on the signs. The beach is sandy and great for castles as well as safe paddling and swimming though there is no lifeguard cover. Picnic tables and childrens play equipment are situated within the park near the beach. Immediate vicinity amenities include accessible toilet block and 1700 metres of boardwalk assist visitor access through the dunes.
