If you are near Kalaloch/Ruby Beach, take a moment to see this behemoth. A short jaunt off of highway 101 and an even shorter hike from the parking lot. You don't see trees like this anymore.

Only a short drive off main highway but worthwhile if you want to see the worlds largest red cedar tree

Watch for "big cedar tree" turnoff sign along US 101 between Ruby Beach and Beach 4. From the highway, drive a little over four miles into the forest on a paved road that becomes hardpack dirt. It's passenger-car accessible, but take it slow and watch for the potholes.
