The food is stunning - the staff are great! Our friend is a winemaker and his Chardonnay is stocked here - Scieppan! It's the best Chardonnay you'll ever try.

A newcomer to Smith Street, for people who are really serious about their food. Run by Peter Gunn, who worked at Attica (Melbourne's best fine dining restaurant), IDES serves ingredients in interesting and even challenging ways. It’s as much about rethinking what’s on your plate as it is about eating it here. TIP: the drink pairing is a must (you can stumble home later!). This one is a splurge at $110pp for six dishes, plus $70 for drinks.
