One of the most picturesque corners reachable after walking through the characteristic alleys. The ruins of the ancient Byzantine church dedicated to Santa Maria del Buonconsiglio still stand here, built in the 9th century and demolished in the 1930s. Of the church with three naves with a single apse, eight columns, two rectangular pillars and two half-columns with a molded base remain visible, found during the excavations of 1983 which brought to light the mosaics of the pavement with polychrome limestone blocks.
