Calderón Hondo is part of a series of aligned volcanoes that formed about 50,000 years ago. This is one of the best preserved and you can climb to its reddish summit – 278 meters above sea level – in less than 45 minutes, following an easy path. From the top you can admire the beautiful crater, the other volcanoes and almost the entire north of the island of Fuerteventura. In addition, some nice squirrels that live in the area will come to ask you for food.

Visit the volcano of Lajares. This is one of the most perfect circular craters on the Canaries. From up there you also have views on Lanzarote, the dunes of Corralejo and El Cotillo. Walking up 1 hour, walking down 1 hour. At the peak you will find a balcony which gives a view on the crater. Walk up from the north side and walk back from the south side to have two different views. Don't leave the trail, only go up to the crater when you reach the stone stairs who leads you straight to the balcony.
