This a great place to rent kayaks and explore Lake Union and Seattle's houseboat communities (Sleepless in Seattle). Also, sea planes land and take-off nearby!

Kayak Rentals. There is also a place called Moss Bay at 1001 Fairview Avenue N #1900, Seattle, WA 98109. Either provides daily rentals where you'll paddle around lake union. The cool thing about this area is : 1) water is somewhat calm due to low-speed boat idling requirement and 2) you get to explore unique water homes that are on floating docks throughout the lake union area.

Kayaking on Lake Union -- lessons available; great laid back atmosphere. Paddle from Lake Union to the Locks, or to Lake Washington, or just splash around Lake Union.
