Lake house holiday rentals in The Berkshires

We had a wonderful time and this house is completely amazing. There is absolutely nothing missing! When Tiffany said, "all you need to bring are clothes" she wasn't joking. The person who designed the house was a genius with the master bedroom on one side of the house, the 2nd bedroom on the other side and the 3rd on the 2nd floor. Privacy inside as well as outside. It was a hiking trip for the family and included Kennedy Park, Olivia Outlook and the Great Monument Mountain. After spending the day hiking, the hot tub, playing pool and watching a movie in the theater just ended a perfect day. We didn't realize how close we were to MA and it was bonus to explore Western Mass as well. Thank you Tiffany for sharing your home with us.

We had a wonderful stay at Allie's cottage on the lake! The home was just as described, super clean with more than everything we needed for a great stay! My husband loves to cook and the kitchen was beautifully stocked and organized. There is so much to do right at the house, we ended up spending most of our time enjoying the lake and the huge yard! Such a wonderful Airbnb with thoughtful touches (welcome basket), yard games and kayaks. So nice to feel right at home! We only wish we would have stayed longer! We were absolutely charmed by this stunning house, surrounded by breathtaking nature and offering incredible views—especially over the lake. Every corner is filled with character and warmth, making it feel like a true hidden gem. A huge thank-you to our wonderful host Sandy, who was incredibly thoughtful and proactive throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ll be back without a doubt!

Very rustic, private, peaceful kind of like a camp but with air conditioning and excellent wifi. Bald eagle sat over the lake outside. Kayaks were fun. Tons of great hikes and historical things to see. Town of Great Barrington and Sheffield have great antiquing both high and low end. I would go back any time.

This was my second time staying at Maureen’s beautiful lakeside home and it surely won’t be my last. It’s the coziest, peaceful and inspiring place. Looking forward to future visits!

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The house was clean, cozy, and in a great location (only 20 min away from Manchester). We ended up using the downstairs bedroom because the upstairs bedroom gets pretty hot even with the fans turns on. We also did not use the pond because there was a good amount of algae growing in it.

A very lovely place to stay! The description matched the place exactly. We enjoyed spending a lot of time outside on the deck bird watching and even saw some fish jumping in the river. The property is also very private which was a huge plus -- no visible neighbors in any direction while spending time outside. Seth was a very responsive host and did a great job with the design of the house. There were lots of thoughtful touches that made the stay extra nice. Would love to stay again!

A beautiful serene home set up with everything you need. We loved the space, both inside and out. There was a country store right down the road that had amazing food. Enjoyed relaxing on the deck after a great day of hiking. With so much hiking in the surrounding area, we are already looking forward to booking again.

We stayed at Georgia's beautiful home for a weekend with another couple. access to home was easy. Home was clean and ready for us. Property/ view was stunning. right on the water. We spent sometime in the gazebo one morning when it was driving outside. The hot tub was awesome. we had some great meals in town. . fabulous trip! thank you.

Juliana and Paul were great hosts! There was a storm the day we arrived and they communicated about the towns power outage before our arrival. They had generators on hand and Paul set up the generator and had many extension cords, flashlights and called local supermarkets/restaurants for us. Luckily the outage was just a few hours. The place was clean and spotless. It was quiet and a short drive into Main Street where you can find restaurants. It is close to many beautiful hikes. We would certainly return as it was a joy to stay in such a peaceful home.

We had a great time at Francois & Ann's oasis by the lake. It was so relaxing to wake up, look at the lake, and listen to birds chirp. If you are looking for isolation, this place does the trick, We didn't see anyone all week on the lake or at the other cabins until the day we left. The lake has excellent fishing. With little effort, we caught several decent-sized bass and pickerel right off the dock. The location is ideal. You feel like you are out in the country, but are close to great restaurants in Kinderhook and only 25 minutes from Hudson or Albany. It's also only an hour from Mass Moca and 90 minutes to Cooperstown. Francois and Ann were very communicative and quickly responded to questions and comments.

The Grafton house was perfect for our multi-family with the big space, bedrooms, and bathrooms. We loved the living room area where we could all sit together for family games. The property and house are beautiful and the perfect Vermont vibes. As a skiing family, we liked the location between our favorite ski resorts. Raphael was a wonderful host in providing instructions before our arrival and helpful advice. We really enjoyed our stay at the Gafton house.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property! The location is close to plenty to do and great dining but also feels very private. The home is absolutely beautiful as pictured. The pool was a real treat to have and half of the pool is a shallow end which was a bonus for us traveling with a child. The beds are very comfortable which is always a huge plus when traveling. The hosts were responsive with any questions that came up. We would happily stay again!

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cottage in the Berkshires! From the moment we arrived, we loved how secluded and private the location felt, surrounded by nature—truly a peaceful escape. The cottage itself was spotless and incredibly well-kept, with everything we needed to feel right at home. The kitchen was fully stocked, making it easy to cook great meals. We especially loved the outdoor griddle—it was perfect for cooking up breakfast and dinner while enjoying the fresh air. And the hot tub was a highlight after a long day of exploring the area. We spent many evenings relaxing by the fire pit, watching the stars, and soaking in the serenity of the surroundings. If you're looking for a quiet, nature-filled retreat with all the comforts you need, we highly recommend this cottage! We’ll definitely be back.

Ben was a great host! The home was very lovely. The grounds were well kept. It was a very peaceful and relaxing trip.

Stayed at Amal's house with friends for a college reunion. Location was perfect for our needs, quiet, with great view, nature and lake access. Saw deer, geese, chipmunks. Tried to beware of bears, but never saw any. Lovely, luxurious, gorgeous, well-lit, clean and modern house, well fitted-out kitchen (even had ziploc bags), comfortable beds. Hosts were communicative and friendly. Absolutely would stay here again the next time the group of us are in the area.

The location was peaceful and beautiful with great local restaurants, farms, and hiking. The reservoir was a nice amenity with the kayaks and canoe. The house was well maintained and comfortable with pretty views on the first floor. We enjoyed our stay

We stayed at Caroline and Nathaniel’s beautiful home over the winter and celebrated NYE’s. Their house is beautiful and perched on top of the hills overlooking a lake. The view is absolutely stunning in the mornings. The house was well maintained and clean. The hosts were very active in communicating with us where we needed anything or if we needed to be aware of any situations regarding the house. I would definitely stay here again.

The house was even more beautiful and quaint than the photos. The weather was a bit chilly and they made sure the heat was on prior to our arrival. Caring, responsive, and helpful hosts. Definitely recommend.

We stayed here on our way to Stowe to break up our long drive with an 8 and 2 year old. It ended up being a wonderful mini trip that we didn't want to leave. The house exceeded our expectations in terms of quality, cleanliness, and amenities. And the location was excellent - about 10 to 12 min to the nearest grocery store and downtown with restaurants, Edith Wharton's estate about 20 min away, and Great Barrington/Stockbridge were easily accessible for day trips. We plan to come back for skiing, and to take advantage of the lake activities in the summer. The only downside was the busy road, as mentioned in the listing, but the traffic quieted down in the evening and it didn't affect our sleep at night with the bedrooms located in the back of the house (husband is a very light sleeper; we did bring and use sound machines just in case).

We had a lovely thanksgiving getaway at Christopher's place. The neighborhood was blanketed in snow turning it into a winter wonderland. The house was cozy, and we especially enjoyed the sun room with its beautiful views. Christopher was very responsive the entire time. Thanks for a great stay!

What an amazing stay. The house is right on a peaceful pond and our kids had the best time exploring every day by canoe. We saw foxes, beavers, tons of birds, and ended each day with s’mores by the fire. Total magic! The house itself was super comfortable and had everything we needed. And the full-size arcade machines were a huge hit with the kids! We’d come back in a heartbeat!

I was planning on my proposal and wanted somewhere special. The window house was exactly that. Private, peaceful, super clean, amazing views and wildlife. Taylor and Marla were EXTREMELY good at communicating and getting back in a timely manner. If you and your significant other are looking to get away, this is the place. It’s sublime.
