The Gator Getaway is the perfect escape from reality located in the swampy town of Manchac, Louisiana. It is the ideal place for a stay near the water with no boat required! The historic building was the original Church of Manchac and was remodeled into a home. Located within walking distance to the famous Middendorf's Restaurant! Also nearby is the public boat launch, Sun Buns river bar boat taxi, and other local favorite spots! Located about 40 miles outside of New Orleans.

Please read detailed description of property before booking. Set in a 22 acre parcel on the Natalbany River 6.5 miles from downtown Hammond. Enjoy nature with a walk along the trail from house to river. This building has been built with mostly reclaimed, reused and upcycled materials. The rustic interior walls are clad in huge boards milled on the property after Katrina damage. Note the unusual shower with handmade tiles. There are other unique structures on property.

Great weekend river getaway!

Relax and unwind with the whole family at this peaceful camp located on the Tangipahoa River. Enjoy fishing off the dock (some poles and tackle are available) or the view from the top deck. Unfortunately, we do not allow swimming off the dock. Bring your boat and launch at Lee’s Landing (few minutes away) to take your fishing adventure from the dock to the banks! We also have two Roku TVs with 50+ channels and ability to log in to any of your streaming services.

With prior notification to host you may have full access to onsite boat slip. Depending on size of boats slip can host up to 2 boats at one time. Welcome to "Bitsy," an itsy-bitsy cabin located in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. She is a 72 square foot one room tiny cabin that contains all the comforts one would expect for a great night's stay. For two guests, you'll find the coziest queen bed and a rain shower in a rustic tub. Our quaint little nature cranny is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee.
