Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Takoma Park

We stayed here for a couple nights with our two kids and dog and it worked well. Plenty of space for us. They do mention that the ceiling is very low and there are quite a few steps which are both very true but it is manageable. There is free parking right on their street which was a huge draw but construction limited the spaces when we were there, but Brian & Jess were helpful and we found free parking on the next street with no issue. We used public transportation to get around and it was very convenient and easy, two different bus stops super close by and easy to get to the metro. Lastly, it was so hot and very humid when we were there, the apartment is in the basement and it was musty and damp in the morning. Brian & Jess were helpful when we brought up, and were told the mini split unit has a dehumidifier setting and it seemed to help some. Brian & Jess were responsive and nice, and we’d recommend staying here when visiting DC!

Absolutely perfect for our 2-night stay with our adult son! The space was spotless, spacious, and had everything we needed. Though it’s a basement apartment, it felt totally private and peaceful. The living area was huge—with a ping pong table, bar seating, and a sectional big enough to sleep two. The hosts also provided comfy twin mattresses that worked great for our son. 1.5 baths made things super convenient for the three of us, and check-in was a breeze. We never saw the hosts in person but felt completely taken care of—super responsive and thoughtful. Plus, Hyattsville is an awesome, safe little town with fun bars, restaurants, and easy access to DC. We’ll 1000% stay here again!

Rolando's place is wonderful! The perfect Airbnb stay! Very clean and modern. The basement apartment is private and very comfortable. Rolando was a great host!

I stayed in Emily’s apartment for two weeks and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! Emily and Alex welcomed me right away and made me feel at home! Everything was as described. The apartment is very big and accommodating, in a peaceful and residential area of DC, with easy access to public transport and bikes. Grocery store is just 15 min walk from there with some fast foods/restaurants. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a cozy space in DC! Emily was always responsive whenever I had questions, and she provided me with everything I could need during my stay. Hope to come back soon!

The place was great! Very clean and comfy for a great price! Chet was a very effective communicator and made sure that I had everything I needed! Would gladly stay here again.

The place was wonderful. It was wonderful timely responsive My Children enjoyed themselves. My wife didn’t complain and she loves to complain so she didn’t have one complaint which made everything absolutely perfect and I would definitely book there again in the next time I visit Maryland. It was wonderful experience.

Very complete home for a home studio, everything clean and tidy. We liked it very much, I think we would come back if we were to visit nearby places. The surroundings are quiet, no noise and nice to walk our dog. Totally recommended.

Peter and Co-hosts were awesome. The place was easy to access, and Peter was proactive in sharing details and was awesome to let us park nearby after check out. Would definitely recommend, and would stay here again when and if returning to DC. The location was tucked away enough to be away from traffic but close enough to access the big sites if you have a car. 10/10 recommend. And he’s right. The most affordable place you’ll find!!

The home is as advertised, cute little spot close to public transit. However, we didn’t feel completely safe going to/from metro, especially at night. Overall though, it worked for our needs.

This is the best Airbnb we’ve stayed at. Everything you could think of was provided. Very clean. Great instructions and Guest Guide. Large 1 bedroom/1 bath basement apartment.

John and Adam were excellent hosts. There were very responsive to my questions and issues. I loved the grounds and very well stocked kitchen. I would gladly stay there again.

First time in DC and Chris’s place was a great stay. A comfy spot in a good location, the place was clean and had all listed amenities. They even had an array of books and a few board games on display. Only thing to note is occasionally slow WiFi and the notable noise that can be heard from upstairs, although it wasn’t constant and the hosts were very friendly and transparent about it upon booking. Overall a good stay and I’m thankful to Chris!

Stayed and felt so comfortable as well as had a great time! There was a park right beside that was always full, walkable food options/store options, and the neighborhood was so friendly! Amazing area and amazing host!

Wir hatten einen schönen, kurzen Aufenthalt hier. Ich dachte, dass es eine Tür zumeist Schlafzimmer geben würde, aber es war für die kurze Zeit (zwei Nächte) ohne Tür völlig in Ordnung. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet und wirklich schön eingerichtet. Auch sehr sauber! Ein richtiger Wohlfühlort!

A great place to stay in DC that was close to the trains.

Willie's place was just as pictured- super clean and free of clutter living, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. We had an issue getting into the unit initially (code was not working) but I called Willie and he IMMEDIATELY answered and the issue was resolved in seconds. Location is great, could walk or an easy Uber/Lyft into the city or around the area. Also downtown Arlington has lots of cute shops. Less than 10 minute drive to the airport too! The only negative is that this is a four unit shared "house" and the stairs to get up to the unit, along with being on the top floor (old squeaky floors) it is very difficult to be quiet during the after hours (even with just walking in and getting ready for bed). Other than that, the stay was perfect and just as described! Thank you Willie!

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The place was clean, well-designed, and very comfortable — it truly felt like a home away from home. The self check-in with a simple access code was super convenient and made everything easy from the start. The location is amazing — close to all the main tourist spots in Washington, DC. We were just minutes away from the National Mall, museums, monuments, and great places to eat. It was the perfect base for exploring the city. The host was kind, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Fast Wi-Fi, comfy beds, and a quiet, safe neighborhood made the whole experience even better. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting DC and would love to stay again!

Love this clean calm space-the balcony was wonderful. Mark was super responsive, checked in on us and we had everything we needed-especially in the kitchen. Great location for walking to restaurants and stores. Will definitely stay again!

Great apartment! Sean’s apartment is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. It is completely quiet at night and the bed is good. There is a good vibe in the neighbourhood and the apartment is less than five minutes from a Green Line metro station that will take you directly to the best art museums in the city. Sean and his co-hosts are very helpful and responsive. I hope to come back to Washington one day and if that happens, I will definitely try to book Sean’s apartment again. Chris was the perfect host. The apartment was just perfect. Restaurant recommendations were spot on. Got to meet his wife and Phillip the cat, also very pleasant. Very responsive to our needs. Absolutely a great value for your money. Will definitely stay here if we come back to the DC area.
