Stay with us in the tree top house and enjoy the amazing volcano view! Me, my wife and our 6 children will welcome you in our lovely lodge maintained by the local community.
“Thomas and his family are amazing hosts. They take great pride in the Yasur View Lodge and work hard to make it a welcoming place for guests. Thomas also makes a great guide, explaining the area and answering questions as he picks us up from the airport (Thomas is always punctual and reliable for the airport!) We walked across the road to check into the volcano tour. The perfect location, especially if you are brave enough for the sunrise tour. Thomas has a list of local tours and activities on the board in the restaurant, I highly recommend the local village ancestor tour, it was very informative and interesting. We also walked to Port Resolution from the lodge and had lunch on the white sand beach at the little restaurant there at Thomas’ recommendation and he picked us up afterwards. One evening we requested the Hot Springs trip and Thomas took us to Sulphur bay where the ocean meets the hot springs. It was a beautiful spot and we particularly loved that Thomas’ wife and children came too, watching the children play made it even more special. We hope that we can go back to visit Thomas again soon!”
There are few places in the world with such a magnificent view. Location transports you to a forgotten world. You will enjoy stunning unobstructed views across the rainforest looking onto the active world famous Yasur Volcano. The newly built Bungalows sit in the heart of the rainforest and offer a unique experience on the beautiful island of Tanna in Vanuatu. You are near to a traditional village and will experience the warm hospitality of people, culture and island life.
“Charlie was in Port Vila, but his brother Johnson was there as was Charlie's wife Marri (sp?). They were both super nice. Genuinely nice! Marri took us on a walk to the waterfall and fed us copious amounts of good food. Johnson helped to arrange anything we needed. The tree house is simply amazing!! Super high up, it's awesome! We also stayed at a treehouse closer to the volcano entrance, so we will compare a bit. Charlie's treehouse was more impressive, the dining area had better views and better breeze. The location is higher up, so it's a bit cooler (Tanna is hot!). Unbelievably there is a flush toilet up in the treehouse! Amazing. The other treehouse you had to walk down all the stairs to get to a bucket flush toilet. Compared to the rest of the island, they seem to have good, strong water flow. The shower at Charlies was perhaps the best and strongest shower we had during our entire 3 weeks in Vanuatu. Charlie's place is farther from the volcano so the view of the volcano isn't as close (but also maybe you get less ash blowing in). Charlie's place is in such a cool location and feels very remote. Just you, the treehouse, and some of the villagers. The one problem, however, is that it's a bit far from some of the main attractions: Port Resolution, Volcano entrance, hot springs, ash plain. If you're okay to walk long distances, they can be reached by walking; however, the other tree houses by the base of the volcano are much closer to those places by walking. Johnson was very happy to arrange transport, but transport on Tanna is expensive (~18-20 USD one way to the various sites). We happened to be staying while cyclone Gretel came through. The tree house survived with no problem our first night (it didn't even sway too much b/c it's in a protected area compared to other trees), but one of us had trouble sleeping b/c of the high winds and being so high up. Johnson was a little worried about us up there, so he stayed up late into the night to make sure it was all okay. Then in the morning we talked about (and he even brought it up) that maybe we should stay down at the main town b/c of the weather forecast and high winds. We really appreciated his honesty. We were very sad to go because the place was amazing, Johnson and Marri were so nice and sweet, but one of us was very nervous (personal anxiety) to be in the tree house in high winds, so we sadly had to leave. But they were very fair about it and arranged the transport for us. The wind had knocked over some trees in the road, so the truck couldn't make it all the way up, so they helped us carry our luggage to the truck. In summary, the treehouse is amazing, the amenities (shower, water, toilets, dining area) are great, the view and location are impressive, and Johnson and Marri were so nice and caring! Thanks Johnson and Marri! Sorry we couldn't have stayed longer! We were sad to leave and enjoyed it so much!”

“Where to start... Everything went smoothly from the airport pick up from Lenakel to Jeffet’s place. Jeffet was super responsive with our questions and gave us advise before arriving. The place... just WOW, better in real life. Real village experience, you can walk around chat with the people. The tree house is so charming AND you get premium view of Yasur!!!!!! At night you see the glow in the sky and the smoke. This place is for real adventurers, if you are after a 5 star hotel experience this won’t do it for you. You will stay in a treehouse which means don’t be surprise if you see little friends around (aka ants ...) they are harmless. We were so touched by the kindness of Jeffet and his family. Jeffet helped us with the volcano tour and transfer to Port Resolution. Oh and food? Delicious and plenty. Thank you again for an amazing stay at Imaio village. Marine & Peter”
