Fitness-friendly holiday rentals in Stone Town

The ‘authentic Fumba apartment’ was amazing. It was sparkling clean and with all the amenities as advertised. Check in was swift and innovative. It has a magnificent view of the Indian ocean and the sunset. Efficiently working air conditioners, grocery shop, small restaurants, gym, swimming pool, ATMs nearby make for a comfortable and convenient stay. Polina responded promptly every time, was considerate and kind. I will definitely want to stay here again the next time I am in Fumba.

It’s my second time here and I enjoyed my stay once again. Wanja is a responsible host. Hope to stay there again.

We had a great stay, were well looked after by the host. Great location if you do business around stonetown. So easy to walk to from the ferry.

Fumba Town is a very nice place to stay: close to the beach and not far from Stone Town and the airport. The apartment is very neat and with tasteful furniture and good facilities like a washing machine and vacuum cleaner. An umbrella came in handy too :-) because it was the rainy season. Kwetu kwenu beach club is nearby and chill with amazing sunset views. Highly recommended, the apartment and the town.

It was so lovely to stay here at Lapili residence. Cannot recommend them enough, the hospitality of the staff/guards were so amazing. They’re such kind people and helped us out whenever we needed, even the littlest things. Also major football fans! Great location to the beach as well with a private beach beds for you to use. If you’re looking for a nice place to stay in Zanzibar, this is it :)

My stay in Edna's really nice apartment is absolutely recommenable. Here you get a clean place with modern facilities, extra cleaning if needed and a very quick response from the owner if you have any question. The area is a safe area, very quiet (exept, see later) nicely kept, you find both a café nearby, and in the evening down by the sea a really chilled place to eat and hang out. It's also here you in the daytime can go "to the beach" - a fenced area with beachsand, beach chairs and umbrellas to shade for the sun - but also the very nice pool, also with sunchairs and umbrellas. A really nice spot to go and enjoy the sun. Only two things on the downside - it's difficult to go in the ocean...or, it's difficult to get up again after going in, because this is not a beach, but cliffs. Secondly, if you are easily bothered by any kind of sound, there will during the day and late afternoon be some noise from the buildings that are in process of being build, it didn't bother me though!

We had a very comfortable stay, the unit was clean and spacious. The host was very responsive and courteous. Would use again.

My family had a wonderful 4 nights staying at Margo’s property - very private, very large functional bedrooms with fans, air conditioning and private ensuites, plus a separate fully self contained 3rd bedroom. A beautiful pool, 24 hour security onsite, daily house cleaning by Ester. And the dogs were super friendly and great company. If you like football, pack your boots and enjoy a game with the locals on the pitch next door. If you like tapas or just really good food - recommend having dinner at “ To Be” which is approx 1km from Margo’s. Couldn’t find fault with the accommodation or the lovely Margo as a wonderful host, who was available, responsive but also gave us total privacy.

Mein Aufenthalt war einfach großartig! Die Unterkunft war makellos sauber und genauso schön wie auf den Fotos – man hat sich sofort wohlgefühlt. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich Emmanuel und Kamada, die Gastgeberin und unser Liebling Massai. Sie waren unglaublich freundlich, zuverlässig und immer erreichbar, wenn ich Fragen hatte. Ihre herzliche Art hat den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht. Ich kann ihre Unterkunft jedem wärmstens empfehlen und würde jederzeit wiederkommen!

Mateusz and Sonia are great hosts. Very hospitable, responsive, friendly and helpful to get yourself organised. Spotlessly clean villa, tastefully decorated and furbished. Good facilities in the villa. Safe. Small but nice pool with even a mini sandy "beach" in the garden, which further has coconuts, limes, papaya, ... Nice staff for housekeeping and security. Transportation to and from airport included in the rent.

Absolutely loved our stay here, the home was exactly like the photos if not better, we were welcomed with them most helpful, hands on, amazing staff. The location as well was perfect right on the beach and close to everywhere in Jambiani, would recommend this place if you are planning to come to Zanzibar !!

Die Unterkunft lag sehr gut, alles war im unmittelbarem Umkreis. Thani war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer ist riesig und schön kühl dank Klimaanlage. Wasser lief zur jeder Zeit und es gab sogar warmes Wasser. Danke für die schöne Zeit. ❤️

Great place for a family in Fumba Town about 30 minutes south of Stone Town. Plenty of space for a family of five and the outdoor terrace upstairs was great in the mornings and evenings.

I decided to live in this guesthouse and not a hotel, because I really value family life. Exactly this wish and demand for my trip, to live together with locals and to make many contacts, was met by the Rafiki guest house. It is one of the cheaper accommodations in Zanzibar because it is not a comfortable hotel - but the focus is on being together, which I really appreciate. If you would like to establish close, friendly contacts quickly and easily, this guesthouse is really perfect for you because all the guests who live there and the owners of the guesthouse are incredibly open and helpful. William even picked me up from the airport and organized excursions and tours for me through acquaintances and friends. In the evenings we ate and partied together in the kitchen under open skies :) For me, this is the unique aspect of Rafiki Guesthouse: It creates honest and lasting friendships!
