Villa holiday rentals in Southern Province

We’ve just come back from an amazing trip to Sri Lanka, and we stayed for 6 nights at Gaya’s wonderful home. We loved it; the location feels remote, but it’s only a 10min walk to the beach/restaurants etc. Every morning I’d wake up and have a coffee on the veranda, overlooking lush greenery, peacocks, cattle - not something you get in everyday life. The staff were very helpful, and the accommodation was comfortable, clean, and is a wonderful option if you’re looking for a self-catering home stay. A big thank you to Gaya for letting us stay, we hope to be back soon!

Ujith and his sister and her husband were great hosts. They responded whenever we needed them and gave us the privacy we needed too. The villa is enormous! it can easily cater for 10 people even though there were only three of us. The pool is well cleaned and the garden is well marinated so it's a pleasure to spend time there. The location is great too. It's a 5 minute taxi ride to the main street which has restaurants, shops and the beach. We walked it a few times too but it is a long walk. The only issue we had was the inconsistency of the cleaner coming to clean the villa which was meant to be 5-6 days per week. But after speaking to Ujith, he sorted it out so she came consistently. Overall we were very happy with our stay at the villa.

My family had 5 nights in this delightful house which was a perfect antidote to 10 days of rushing around the island of Sri Lanka. It was so relaxing and greatly benefited from having private staff who dealt with everything we could possible have wanted. There is a private chef who went out of his way to prepare whatever we asked for, 3 meals a day if needed. He only charged us for the ingredients required to prepare those meals which included a range of seafoods (e.g. huge prawns and seer fish), fresh fruit and very tasty Sri Lankan main dishes and deserts - nothing was too much trouble and he should be justly proud of his cooking skills, some of the best meals we tasted on our trip. They happily took us out on the tuk-tuk to local shops and will arrange local tours but we were "toured out" by the time we got there. The pool is fantastic (and huge!) and the grounds are constantly maintained by "Uncle". I cannot say anything but positive things, but do bring the bug sprays!

Beautiful place, wonderful pool, comfortable beds, relaxing atmosphere, helpful staff and enough space for everyone to chill out - what more could you ask for? And all just a 15-minute tuktuk ride from Galle Fort history or Ahangama bars.

We stayed for a week and loved every minute! The location is perfect, peaceful and private but only a short Tuktuk ride from Ahangama town. It’s not traditional self-catering, so no kitchen access but the wonderful staff are on hand to make you whatever you like, no request too much! We had our own private firework display and the team installed full length mirrors for us when we realised there wasn’t one. Honestly the team are lovely, discreet but always there to help. The villa isn’t in the heart of town, but only 5 mins Tuktuk or 30 min walk, which for us on a family holiday was perfect, quiet in the evenings, but so easy to go to the lively bars and restaurants in town. Located in Rekawa beach (near Ranna) about 10km from Tangalle, this isolated, oceanfront villa is the perfect getaway - I can't recommend it enough! The pictures do not do this place justice. Hans was responsive and helpful. The house staff were attentive and hospitable and we took advantage of paying for local food and having the staff cook for us during our three night stay - an incredible value based on local restaurant prices (and yummy too!). There is a restaurant closeby if you prefer that. The house is very large; the back yard and pool area spectacular; and the beach access great. You can also have the staff schedule multiple day trips to surrounding areas so this is a great base for exploring the southern coast. Highly recommended!

Priyankara's place was so amazing! Words fail to describe how awesome this property is. Before getting into the property part I really want to appreciate Priyankara as a host - Him and his family was the sweetest. He helped out with local recommendations, he was just a second away with his responses. He accommodated any reasonable request we had without any fuss. There is absolutely no surprise as to why this listing has the most amazing reviews - Priyankara's hospitality is such :) Pictures do not do any justice to this house - Its so peaceful and calm and oh so wonderful. You will have occasional visitors (Monkeys, few insects etc) but they don't bother you. That pool overlooks a green paddy field and you wake up to this amazing greenery - Nothing like it. This home is very close to all the touristy places. Galle Fort is just 10 mins away. We had a cab with us throughout our stay in SL so it was easier for us but hiring a ride could be a challenge here. Not sure. Amazing place!

We really enjoyed our stay at Bianca's place. Everything was so easy and the place is amazing. Bianca and her team were very good communicators and responsive. We spent a lot of time walking on the beach and swimming in the pool and exploring the area along the coast, which was exactly what we wanted (and one big highlight of our trip!) The breakfast provided was great - fresh fruit especially! And we also used the laundry here, which was easy and really nice. We tried many of the restaurants nearby and had a good experience - delicious food! We would love to come back here on our next visit to Sri Lanka. High recommend!

What can I say, but.....wow! we had 5 kids and 4 adults on our holiday and this house could not have been more perfect. The amazing breakfasts every morning, teh huge pool, teh cleaning service done beautifully each day. wow. wow. wow. loved it all. Thank you!

Wir waren zu fünf Personen dort und haben zwei Nächte in der sehr schönen Villa in direkter Nähe zu den Stränden von Hiriketiya verbracht. Wir wurden sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit vom Team empfangen und Alles war perfekt hergerichtet. Die Ausstattung ist in sehr gutem Zustand: Bäder, Wasser, Ventilatoren, Klimaanlage, WiFi, Küchengeräte haben alle einwandfrei funktioniert. Wir konnten endlich unsere Sachen waschen und nach vielen Tagen Rundreise entspannen. Sehr zu empfehlen, den Preis wert und sehr netter Kontakt zu Vermieter, Manager und Team!

Our stay at Wigis villa was wonderful. The villa itself is located in a perfect spot allowing you immediate access to the beach as well as the Main Street with all its cafes, shops and restaurants, on the other side. The villa is a haven of tranquility, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the town. Inside, the house is fully equipped and very well kept. The garden was beautiful and our children had many hours of fun in the lovely pool. Lastly what really made it great was the excellent team on hand. The team prepared beautiful breakfasts each day, together with lunch and dinners on request. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back!

This place is beautiful beyond words. The staff here make it the ultimate holiday experience. The food that comes out of the kitchen is delicious both western and local food. This place is simply hospitality done well. We hope to return ❤️

Such a beautiful place with peaceful waterfront location, we stayed with a big group of 29 adults and south point villa and south point ocean was able to accommodate all of us very comfortably. We had a great time swimming in the pools and the ocean, taking sunset walks on the beach. The staff are lovely and work tirelessly to meet our needs, we had a wonderful stay and are already looking forward to returning next year.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Nissanka und Dammika empfangen und sie haben uns am ersten Abend verschiedene sehr leckere Currys zubereitet und sind dabei auf unsere individuellen Wünsche eingegangen. Die Unterkunft ist unheimlich schön und liebevoll eingerichtet. Der Schnitt mit dem offenen Wohnraum inklusive Pool und die verschiedenen Kunstgegenstände machen das Haus sehr individuell und besonders. Super sauber und mit einer tollen Lage, wenn man ein bisschen schlendern und Abends verschiedene Restaurants testen möchte. Wir haben auch das frisch zubereitete Frühstück von Nissanka und Dammika sehr genossen. Toll fanden wir auch die ausführlichen Infos mit Hinweisen zur Umgebung und Empfehlungen für Strände, Ausflüge, Restaurants etc. Vielen Dank und liebe Grüße!

Hello all travelers. If you are looking for well-being, comfort, peace and entertainment literally just a few steps away, don't hesitate and come here. Breakfast with a view of the wild ocean, where you can have a great time and forget all your worries. The villa offers all food at any time, but you can buy food about 50 meters away in the market and leave it to the wonderful host and his team, who will arrange literally everything you ask for. So an ideal choice for a group of friends. It is a little more expensive, but if it can be taken that way because everything here is at prices that are still more than good. If you are planning a trip, the prices are very similar everywhere and here they will arrange any trip you can think of at prices like anywhere else in the area. If you are traveling with a backpack, go somewhere else here, it is associated with better quality and I recommend taking the whole place so that you have privacy, which I think is the most important thing th

We had the most wonderful family Christmas at Villa Olu. The villa exceeded our expectations - the photos don’t do it justice! It was the most perfect setting for relaxing, having fun, playing games and not to mention the incredible family meals prepared and cooked by Kumara and Nadi!Experiencing the delicious traditional Sri Lankan cuisine was a huge highlight. Kumara could not do enough to help us - book tuk tuks, arrange massages at the villa and arrange transport. The villa is incredibly peaceful yet only ten minutes from Galle where we enjoyed visiting shops, sites and cafes. We would not hesitate to stay at Villa Olu again, what a super family holiday!

super leuk plekje om even voor jezelf te hebben. Even tijd voor jezelf terwijl je dicht bij het centrum van zowel Weligama als Mirissa zit. Beide zijn met een tuktuk of bus gemakkelijk te bereiken binnen 10 min. Sahan was super vriendelijk en ook zijn vader hielp ons goed naar al onze wensen. Het huis was schoon en sfeervol. De kamers waren ruim, het zwembad was super en werd iedere dag schoongemaakt.

We highly recommend this apartment, it is even better than the photos! It is super clean and feels very spacious with comfortable sofas. It feels like such a large space with an upstairs bedroom and the large downstairs bedroom has an en suite. The pool is amazing, 100 % private and so lovely to be able to cool down and chill out. It is walking distance to local shops, markets and the fort. It is worth enquiring if they would consider a 2 night stay. Liaising with Dineru and meeting his Dad was a pleasure. They were so flexible on our departure and we really cannot thank them enough. Do not hesitate to book here, fantastic value.

This awesome villa in Weligama is super close to Mirissa Beach! It’s perfect for two people, with a private pool and just a 5-minute drive to all the hot spots in Mirissa. Kasun, the host, is fantastic, and the breakfast is killer, packed with the freshest and tastiest fruits.

Telo was an amazing place to stay in the south of Sri Lanka! Walking distance to a spectacular beach spot and multiple cafes and restaurants. Short tuk tuk ride away from surfing spots and many more bars and eateries. The place itself was beautifully designed, large, and peaceful. The manager was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone and would absolutely stay again!

Tuvimos una estancia increíble en Dimuthu. El apartamento es bastante cómodo, con aire acondicionado en las habitaciones. Nos sentimos seguros porque la casa está vigilada 24/7. Pero, sin duda, lo mejor de todo es la zona exterior con la piscina privada donde disfrutamos bastante. Además, la hospitalidad del propietario Palitha fue excelente. Queremos destacar el buen trato y cariño de Sadruwan (el portero) y Nuwan (el vecino con tuktuks), hicieron que nuestra estancia fuera mejor aún.

We had a great time at Raki’s place. It was a nice and peaceful villa located at a secluded place. We loved the swimming pool, the privacy and also the cozy rooms. The staff including Isuru were responsive and friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. Highly recommended, specially for group stays.

We feel a bit teary writing this as Nalaka and his family now feel like a bit of a family to us. Our Sri Lankan family 🥰 We could not have asked for a better experience staying in Serene Cottage. We turned up to pure paradise and stayed for 10 nights, but it could have been longer. The house is down a quiet road in a rural village. It is pure peace. The bedrooms and wonderful, with super comfortable beds. The terrace is 10/10, nothing beats a morning coffee sitting out there. We could not fault the stay... and we could not fault Nalaka and his family. They went above and beyond at every moment. They made us a delicious breakfast everymorning, they helped arranging days out and taxi's, they even cooked us a dinner for my mums Birthday - something we will never forget. My sister had an accident and ended up in hospital, they were there straight away helping and supporting. This family have created a home away from home that I would recommend to anyone and everyone. We will be back!
