Cottage holiday rentals in Šmarje pri Jelšah

We stayed here for a week in October. Although the outside temperatures were already cooler, the pool was still heated at our request. A service that is not a matter of course. When we no longer needed the pool, we also turned it off ourselves to save electricity to save electricity. Matic was always available and always inquired. Recommended any time.

The accommodation is simply fantastic. 🤩 We felt super comfortable right away, everything was very well furnished and equipped. The perfectly clean and heated pool, the indescribably beautiful view, the great Jacuzzi... we don't know where to stop. Everything was as described or even better. There are many opportunities to do things in the area. Nevertheless, the accommodation is very quiet and private. Let's get to Emanuela and Slavko. We have rarely experienced such amazing hosts. Every question was responded to immediately and you always felt you could ask every question. The two are such warm and loving people who have made an enormous contribution to making our stay there just perfect. Finally, we would like to mention the outstanding breakfast, which we will miss very much. Thank you both for your hospitality!

Peaceful farmstead in the woods with animals and many options to relax. The absolutely child-friendly setting makes it possible for kids to explore nature or play with the plethora of toys available. You can even find the Paka river descending the mountain as a stream near the farm. There is very little light pollution if you are interested in the sky at night. Janja is an exceptional host and her family is friendly and welcoming but never obtrusive. And no review is complete without mentioning livestock supervisor and area coordinator Lucky.

I recently visited this apartment and had an amazing stay. The place was peaceful and incredibly relaxing—perfect for a getaway. The private spa was a real highlight, offering a touch of luxury that made it well worth the money. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the warm welcome from the hosts made me feel right at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort and tranquility.

What a wonderful place as well as hosts! Nikolina and her husband were very helpful and warmhearted people. She brought breakfast every morning which was so so lovely! Could not recommend it more!! Hvala puno. ❤️

Daniels cottage was great. It is located on a meadow in the middle of a forest in the hills and is extremely quiet and peaceful. A perfect place for relax and rest. All was exactly as listed and described.

We had an great stay! The space was spacious, spotless, and perfectly suited for our family. Our kids absolutely loved the outdoor area—especially the zipline and all the friendly animals. One of the highlights was when the host took them on a walk with the goats, and grinding corn for the chickens. We also opted for the daily breakfast and it was well worth it—each morning we were treated to a delicious local spread with meats, cheeses, homemade bread, and fresh eggs from the host’s chickens and ducks. The host was extremely friendly and welcoming, always ready to help or offer tips. The surrounding forest was stunning and perfect for peaceful hikes. We couldn’t have asked for a better stat and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, especially families.

Lovely large place that is completely secluded. In the middle of the mountains, great views and with a nice spa to relax. The host is very friendly and helpful. There were two of us with our dog, but there is still plenty of room for more people. We would come back again! :)

Martin's place was amazing. Perfectly located amongs tranquil hills of a Slovenian village. Plenty of space for a family of 3 or 4, well equipped, cosy. Surrounding was perfect for a peaceful vacation. We especially enjoyed sitting around fire in the evening. I definitely recommend it!

Beautiful wooden house! Very warm and calm stay!

We were there to celebrate our niece's 30th birthday, so there were quite a number of people coming and going. We had enough bedrooms to accommodate everyone. The house was lovely - with loads of space either to be alone or for groups of people to eat, or gather together and the gardens and view are sublime.

Mitja's house was perfectly clean, and i mean it. It was really very clean and tidy. The communication with Mitja was very comfortable, he was always available and gave us many tips what to visit in the surroundings. The house is located in a quiet and nice village easily accessible from the highway. We were looking for a comfortable and cosy house to relax and rest from the city life and it was a great choice. The house has everything you might need, it is very well equiped. It also has a nice terrace and a garden. There is a supermarket 3 mins away from the house. I really recommend Mitja's house and hope to come back again.

As in pictures. Very clean. Really everything for the daily is available. Very cozy and great location on the hilltop. The view in Rebberge is great. Various seating options, around the house. The Slovenian oven is great for lighting and everything burns down. The visit of a squirrel was an additional joy. Great winemaker within walking distance. Janez is always immediately available and very friendly and helpful. He is very well connected. English is spoken well everywhere and the streets are all good.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Farm Vrhivšek! The peaceful surroundings and beautiful green landscape made it the perfect place to relax and recharge. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The location is ideal for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities—whether you’re into hiking, cycling, or simply enjoying nature. The village of Lindek is charming, and the unspoiled, colorful environment really adds to the experience. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. We especially appreciated the calm atmosphere and the attention to detail that ensured a very comfortable stay. We highly recommend Farm Vrhivšek to anyone looking for a quiet, nature-filled getaway. It truly is a little paradise!

The mill is a special place. Vid and his parents made it even more so. I was met by his mother who showed me where everything was, including her beautiful garden that she invited me to use. They had stocked the fridge with more food than I could eat in my week! The next day Vid's father brought some lovely fresh asparagus and sausages and the sweetest blueberries I've ever had. Such lovely welcoming people! Vid responded to questions quickly and kindly set up a visit to a friend's vineyard which was a highlight of the trip. The mill is one of the most peaceful places I've ever stayed. I kept the window open all the time to hear the sound of the river. It's very isolated - which is exactly what I was looking for! My helpful hint would be to not buy groceries before ILY check in because they'd already thought of everything!

We enjoyed this cozy cottage close to the lake very much. The cottage is small, but thanks to the baking sheet outside, you can also cook outside. The air conditioning certainly came in handy, but at night we could use some extra coolness in the separate bedroom. The bed was also a bit small there and could use some extra softness;). All the extras make it a very nice stay in nature: the hammock and sun loungers, the fire bowl, flowers and plants. The canoe and sub you can rent are also super nice to explore the lake. Across the street you can eat delicious ice cream and there are affordable cocktails with a very friendly service!

An extremely good host. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and even received a gift. Flexible check-in was possible. Everything perfect.

Branco is a great wine producer, we had the chance to taste it. The house has a perfect view and location. If I have the chance to come again, I would definitely choose it.

We had a great time at Janez's house. The house is super pretty, well furnished with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. Janez is very welcoming, he gave us ideas for walks in the area I highly recommend it!
