It is within walking distance to Skokie downtown and 3 minutes from i-94 highway which will take you directly to downtown Chicago in 30 minutes. Alternatively 5 minutes from the Metra or CTA station which will also take you downtown Chicago. 20 minutes from Northwestern campus.
