“If you are looking to throw off the shackles and pressures of modern-day life, look no further. When we first found Sunset Hideaway on AirBnB we couldn't believe our luck. Seriously.....private access to the bay where we could snorkel and watch a family of clown fish?? Beautiful, open pavilion-style accommodation as per the idyllic images of an island vacation. Privacy, tranquility, serenity and beautiful sunsets....this place has it all. Waking up every morning to ocean views from the comfort of our bed was the most blissful way to begin each day. After a lazy start we simply made our way to the living area pavilion to put together our breakfast. The outdoor kitchen had everything we needed to prep/cook our meals with the groceries we picked up en-route from the airport and from the local markets (made SO easy with a pre-arranged driver! Thanks Keely!). Then we enjoyed a swim in the pool, or a snorkel, before spending the day reading books or jumping on the quad bike for some island adventures. Evenings were spent cooking dinner and enjoying a few Tuskers or red wines as Vanuatu turned on her dazzling sunsets. If we weren't dozing off early after enjoying too much fresh air, we happily watched one of the movies from the in-house dvd library on the projector. The caretakers at Sunset Hideaway are very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated their advice, local knowledge and willingness to assist in any way they could. Hideaway is suitable for a solo escape from the hustle and bustle, a romantic retreat for couples or a brilliant option for small families looking for some room to move, make some noise and to enjoy each other's company. Basically, it's suitable for anyone except, perhaps, for those who balk at a mosquito and prefer a more sealed environment, free of character. From our first communications with Keely, we knew we were onto something very special. Keely has obviously put a great deal of love and attention into providing not just fabulous accommodation at Hideaway but a wonderful experience overall. This place is fantastic and one of the best holidays we have ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.”
( Formally “ Serety Sunset Bungalow) This is a tropical island getaway on beautiful Pele Island just a 10 min boat ride from the main island of Efate. A great place to just unwind and just lay on the beach under a palm tree with a good book. Breakfast included - lunch/Dinner $500 Vatu each ($6 aud) Turtle Beach Bungalow is a locally built thatched hut right on the beach, its quite basic but has everything you need for a island getaway.
“I stayed six nights by myself at Turtle Beach Bungalow. I'm not someone who normally travels solo but I had the time of my life! Highlights (in no particular order!): Snorkelling the coral gardens up the coast of Nguna Island; helping to plant new coral gardens in a neighbouring village; stand up paddle boarding in the middle of a pod of dolphins; hiking to the highest point of the island; having whole, crispy skinned fish for dinner (freshly speared by Charley); and relaxing on the beach every evening watching all the turtles right in front of me! I'm not a very outdoorsy person and I found everything totally adequate, but do note that this place is really basic. You are living island style. There's limited solar power to charge your phone and run a fan, and that's about it. You will see some bugs and plenty of ants and you will get used to 2 minute showers. If you need a lot of home comforts this may not be the right accommodation for you! But seriously this is not a place where you spend a lot of time inside - if you're keen to explore this beautiful island and get amongst the local lifestyle, food, and sloooow pace, then staying here is just perfect. A couple of tips: take your own snacks/supplies from the mainland, there's no fridge but you can boil water; take up Charley's offer of food at least a few times (I did breakfast and/or dinner every day, about $5 will get you a home-cooked Pele Island meal); take plenty of insect repellent; take ear plugs (because jungle noises can be scary at night time, even though there's nothing dangerous in there!); and don't be afraid to call or text Charley if you need anything, or if anything has broken. If you feel like an adventure then ask him - he might take you out on the boat fishing/snorkelling for a few vatu, or send his son as an island tour guide, or let you know about things happening in the villages, or even show you where to buy a cold beer on the island (there are no shops). If you want privacy then you might like to let him know - but note that this is island life, people drift past and sometimes turn up to fix things etc. I absolutely adored Pele Island, I loved the dogs Milky and Chocolate (who are a permanent fixture at the bungalow), and I loved spending time with Charley and his family, and Marty (who happened to be in Vanuatu but isn't always). This experience was unique, adventurous and relaxing all at once - I will be back!”
I'm offering a fully self-contained one bedroom apartment with its own private entrance and access to a swimming pool. This apartment is just 2 minutes walk from centre of Port Vila. The property has two apartments. One is where I live with my husband and the other is the one bedroom apartment which I’m hosting on Airbnb. Transport is not a problem as the property is 100 mts from a busy road, shops and a bus stop.
“A huge Thank You to Marie, Morgan and Fabiola for looking after me so well and Rinnnick for his help and sense of humour. What an amazing experience, they don’t just do as they say on the box they go a lot further Morgan met me at the airport ( The cost of pick up is the same as a taxi and you have door to door service with help and guidance) helped me change some money, got me a SIM card and we were off. The accommodation is gleamingly clean and has everything you want with the added advantage of being three steps from the pool which I used frequently. They are on hand for local advice and invaluable tips and couldn’t possibly be more helpful Can not recommend this experience enough. Would definitely definitely come back”
