Chinese reflexology treats the feet as a map of the body. Each body responds differently and sometimes in surprising ways. The practitioner works with their fingers on the sole and the back of the foot, where each toe reflects a certain energy, energies that exist in nature such as wood, fire, earth, metal and water.

This involves massaging the muscles and performing manipulations on the areas of the body where there are muscle contractures. The goal is to relax, decontract, stretch and manipulate certain joints to restore their correct functioning and improve athletic performance in general. Pressure is applied to specific points on the body in addition to the standard manoeuvres to improve overall well-being.

Chinese reflexology is a form of alternative therapy based on stimulating points on the sole and back of the foot that correspond to areas or organs of the body – the micro in the macro. The techniques used include applying pressure and manipulating points with the fingers or knuckles, but it can vary from simple pressure to different techniques such as massaging or rubbing. The techniques are the same as for a sports massage: I work on the muscles and joints, but with more time to be able to give more attention to the contracted areas and with the addition of pressure on the points used in Chinese medicine.
