Located in front of the World Heritage Site "Horyu-ji Temple" in Madara-cho, Nara It is a nostalgic yet somehow new, special house. The floors on each floor are made of cypress from Yoshino, Nara, the same material used in the construction of Horyuji Temple. It can accommodate up to 9 guests. It is also recommended for stays with friends, such as "adult school trips", creative training camps, and travelers who love architecture. There are supermarkets, cafes, Chinese restaurants, dango shops, specialty bakeries, Japanese restaurants that have won Michelin stars, famous confectionery shops, and other urban areas nearby. On the other hand, there are also quiet landscapes dotted with the old charm of Madara, where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll. Nakamiya-ji Temple, which has a national treasure, the Half-Recumbent Buddha, Hoki-ji Temple, a World Heritage site alongside Horyu-ji Temple, Jikoin Temple, which has a magnificent view overlooking the Daiheino Plain, and Mt. Sanshitsu and the Tatsuta River, which were also mentioned in the Hyakunin Isshu, are also nearby. Enjoy the town surrounded by historic Tsukiji walls in the clear early morning air, and experience Madarao as if you had your own home there. OPEN 20 March 2026 This is [B&B Morino Akari], a quiet old kominka-style inn nestled in the mountains of Nara and Yoshino, surrounded by greenery, and limited to one group per day. (The name means "Light of the Forest") ⚫︎ During your stay, breakfast and dinner prepared by the owner are included (please refer to the photos) ⚫︎ We can also provide meals for pescatarians and vegetarians. The kitchen area is shared with Hotos. The rest is all for your exclusive use, and you can spend your time freely as if you were renting the entire building. The spacious area of approximately 230 m² can accommodate up to 8 people. It is ideal for family or group trips. There is also good access to Yoshinoyama, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, and the World Heritage Site, Konpōzanji Temple. We have preserved the historic beams and tiled roofs while preparing the space for you to have a comfortable stay. The tranquillity of the mountains and the soft light that illuminates the night. Here, you can forget about everyday life. Because of the natural surroundings, we recommend that you come by car. (If you are coming by train, we can pick you up and drop you off at the nearest station if you wish) Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a relaxing stay.

Makomo House is located in a mountain village at an altitude of 500 m on the Oku-Mikawa Plateau in Nara The 100-year-old house is a private rental. Makomo-no-ta, which is said to be "the grass where God dwells", spreads around the inn, and you can relax in your room and feel the "Makomo breeze". You can enjoy the "Medicinal Herb Makomo Bath" at the Irori back table and the Goemon bath, where the well water is heated with firewood. There is no TV or wifi, so why not turn off your digital devices and turn on your own sensibilities?
