We are a 10 minute drive from the West entrance of Joshua Tree National park and a 5 minute drive to the downtown shops, cafes and galleries. Desert Wild is a place to unwind, relax and enjoy the slow pace of the desert. We invite you to cool off in our pool after hiking, soak in our bath and enjoy the cactus garden, or star gaze from our hot tub at night.

Treetop Hideout is a classic alpine chalet perched high on the ridge overlooking Idyllwild village, surrounded by panoramic views of the San Jacinto mountains. This secluded, quiet little cabin is for all forest lovers, but would be most enjoyed by folks with an adventurous spirit (see Winter Access). You will be greeted with the stillness of the woods, sunrise + sunset views from two cantilevered balconies, all while wrapped in a cozy, luxurious interior.

One block from the Salton Sea, the artsy Vargas Paradise is the perfect spot to explore one of the coolest and most eccentric artist towns in the US. Bombay Beach is a photographers and filmmakers dream. It has the feeling of a Mad Max movie set combined with the Americana vibe of the 1960s and 1970s. A great base to explore sites such as Salvation Mountain, East Jesus, Slab City, Box Canyon hikes, Joshua Tree NP and Imperial Sand Dunes.

Bluebird Tiny House Forest Retreat

This vintage horse trailer was reimagined into a Tiny house by Lane and Laurie as a couples project in 2018 which they completely gutted and remodeled using beautiful natural materials like wood, old fashioned wood cabinetry, handmade ceramic tiles and woven bamboo. Bluebird Tiny House is tucked into a secluded forest meadow, named for the bluebirds that spend part of the year there and there are miles of private trails to enjoy.

This is a mountain retreat with amazing views located just two miles from downtown Julian. Come enjoy a stay in a one bedroom, 1 &1/2 bath with over 1200 modernized square feet of space. Sit on the deck to see the amazing views including surreal moon rises and sunrises. The view starts at the edge of Julian and goes as far as the Salton Sea on clear days.
