The building is designed to make use of the "space that extends to the back" that is unique to a traditional Kyoto townhouse. The view and space flow smoothly between the courtyard, living room, and back garden, so you can feel the light and breeze of the seasons while indoors. A water basin is placed between the garden and the living room, and the greenery and light reflected on the water surface gently colour the space. From the open-air bath, you can look out over the spacious garden, and you can enjoy a luxurious moment surrounded by the sound of birds in the morning and the quiet moonlight at night.The Japanese-style room in the cottage features a sliding door made of handmade Japanese paper from Nara and Yoshino. You can spend a relaxing time reading, having tea, or doing other activities in a space bathed in soft light.
