Excellent local sushi chain. This was the first location, and it has been very successful, expanding all over town in less than a decade.

Parks & Nature

We like Canmore better than Banff to get away from the touristy atmosphere and be in the mountains. By all means, visit Banff, but don't skip Canmore, which is on the way to Banff from Calgary.

One of the biggest urban parks in North America. This shows you what the natural landscape would be like if not for farming, irrigation, etc. Stark, barren, hilly, with great views overlooking the city.

This is where it all started. There are exhibits about the mounted police, the old town, immigration, first nations, etc. This place needs a bit of a tidy up, but it's a unique little place in a very cool part of town.
