Food Scene

Fresh veggies, seafood, pasta, meat, Italian. The food and service here are top notch. I generally order the special additions to the menu because I trust the chef! It is a small dining room so reservations are suggested.

The food here is exceptional by any standard, Chef Jansen was the Chef de cuisine at The Four Season's Fountain Restaurant prior to taking a hiatus and then opening Jansen. https://www.yelp.com/biz/jansen-philadelphia

Malelani Cafe - Their own slight twist on mediterranean food. Fast inexpensive fresh and healthy. Coffee and tea varieties are top tier. I mostly enjoy falafel to go, after work. They have a decent brunch as well.

Charming little tavern. If you're looking for some Philly style comfort food, this is your place. Get "The Schmitter". It's a cheesesteak sandwich with seared salami, ham and oozing with cheese.

Essentials

It is an Acme but very impressive. The service is great! Good meats, seafood and produce. Best Fried Chicken around but make sure it is fresh. Only 4 blocks from my place. Open until 11pm 7 days a week.

Shopping

Awesome little co-op. Stop for fresh local organic fruit and produce. Impressive organic/all-natural beef, chicken, sausage, etc. Excellent coffee section, boasting well over a dozen blends of organic and Fair Trade whole bean coffees. An impressive array of freshly prepared foods of various cuisines, as well as a bulk foods department, which has just about every grain, nut, and oat one could ask for. Great selection of shampoo, lotions, body care. They support local farms and food purveyors. Prices are slightly higher than you would find at the average grocery store. Quality is several notches above your average grocery store.
