Arts & Culture

Ancient port city, university town. Wonderful place to be, with cosy squares, great architecture, shops, good restaurants (especially 'Sonambulo' in Plaza Candelaria 12, owned by my friend Tamara and her husband, highly recommended) and a jolly, welcoming atmosphere.

Everything Else

One of the most impressive sandy beaches in Spain with an immense dune and a Roman archeological site. The drive from the N340 (direction Tarifa) to the coast is breath-takingly beautiful.

Beach. You should make the drive from the nearby town of Barbate to Los Caños de Meca along the coastal road A-2233. A lovely trip trough the pine woods with the road eventually winding down with a sudden spectacular view of Cape Trafalgar. Not to be missed.
