Empire is a foodies answer to great Chinese food. The atmosphere is fun and busy. It's not on Portland's most beautiful street but the dumplings are creative and so so good, worth sacrificing a waterfront view.

Parks & Nature

A beautiful moderate to difficult Maine hike in Evans Notch through the Caribou-Speckled Mountain Wilderness. It is about a 1 hour 15 minute drive to the mountain up gorgeous Rt. 113 and a 5 hour round trip hike covering 6.2 miles. Be sure to take our White Mountain Guide and maps with you. I like the Spruce Hill Trail to the Bickford Brook Trail to the summit of Speckled Mountain. Bring plenty of water, food, good hiking shoes, a rain coat and a warm layer. It's a peaceful hike.
