This is an iconic Seattle spot, with a fabulous view of Puget Sound. Get there early to get a table on the deck - but the views are fabulous from the dining room as well. Watch the water birds and the boats coming and going from lake Washington through the locks just around the corner.

Just don't miss it! Seattle burned in 1889 and the city planners decided that a great part of the Pioneer Square area would be rebuilt one story higher than before, due to the tidal flux in Elliot Bay always backing up the toilets in the downtown area. :) This means that the second story of the buildings became the ground floor entry level. You can still go below and see the original lobby floor of these old buildings - but the best part is the tour guides and the HILARIOUS and fascinating history of this crazy city.

Essentials

This is a higher end grocery - quintessentially Seattle. You can always go to Fred Meyers on 85th for a cheap grocery run, but you should check out Ken's Market, it's a great little spot.
