Good Tex-Mex with a chill rooftop bar. They have an elevator if you need it. After a pitcher of margaritas you might.

Excellent food and a bit more upscale. Popular for their tapas and cocktails. All the old time Winter Garden characters drink here in the early evening.

The BEST bread and pastries outside the EU. We are bread snobs and we LOVE this place! It is NOT downtown. It is located just as close however. The address is: 1201 Winter Garden Vineland Rd #4a, Winter Garden, FL 34787

This spot has my favorite pizza and tea (Antiquiteas). Many beer drinkers love the brewery. The outside seating is enchanting and it is fun to pick from several food vendors and then find a spot to relax under the towering oaks. This is a kid friendly place with grassy squares to safely coral children while their parents drink.

Get in your car right now and go here. There is nothing else more important. Disney can wait. Your niece’s second wedding can wait—but these doughnuts cannot! Housed in a Chevron on Hwy 50, you would never guess the divine experience hidden behind gas pumps and 32-ounce jugs of Mountain Dew.

Drinks & Nightlife

Dive bar extraordinaire! You WILL leave here smelling like smoke but oh, the stories you’ll tell! Beware…Karaoke makes a crash landing here several nights a week and that is all I’ll say about that.

The place to drink if you want to rub elbows with Disney entertainment outside of the park. They also hold an open mic night and if you’re into show tunes, you’ll feel like you’ve stumbled upon a secret pot of entertainment gold and if you’re not…have another Nolet’s and tonic…

Sightseeing

Every Saturday until 1:00 or 2:00 PM depending on the season. This market has won lots of awards and is a fun way to spend a Saturday morning. In the summer it gets VERY hot so going earlier will save you from the temptation of running naked through the children’s splash pad next door.

Parks & Nature

Kids LOVE this spring! Buy a tube at the entrance to the park then spend the afternoon floating down its refreshing waters. A word of caution: If gleeful gangs of children annoy you, this may not be the spring for you.

This is a great spring for swimming and an awesome outpost for canoeing down the gorgeous Wekiva River. Once you make your way down the river a bit, away from the main spring, don’t be surprised to see wildlife including alligators. One tourist insisted that the alligators were animatronics created by Disney in order to create an authentic Florida experience. We assure you, this tourist is mistaken. The alligators are real and though you’re not their preferred meal, they have been known to attack and sometimes eat a human or two. Due to this, you may not want to swim in undesignated areas if you value the body parts you have.

My favorite spring! This is a crazy freak of nature kind of place…the earth burps and belches up from under the crystal clear water leaving “boils” of white sand. This is also one of my favorite places to canoe or kayak though it may not be the best place to canoe for your very first time unless you like a challenge. Juniper is also located in the Ocala National Forest, which is full of nature-based experiences!
