For years this was a second hand book and record store. The new owners decided to keep the vinyl and added a cafe, so the best of both worlds! Great coffee and a nice alternative to the chain stores

The food is wholesome and delicious, freshly made domestic and international dishes and wonderful vegetarian options. My favourites are the warm brown rice salad and the African chicken stew. Reasonably priced too. They have a small front patio on Danforth. Its further west in Greektown near Pape station.

Sightseeing

This is a unique community of artist studios, cafes, shops, restaurants, and offices in a historic setting. I love that there are no chain stores allowed, so each tenant is very unique and adds to the charm and character of the area.

The trail is great for walking, biking, picnicking. It follows the Don River north, all the way up to Lawrence. It's very easy to access from my home. Simply walk up Oak Park Ave, north of the Danforth and you're there.

A small farm within a big city! It's open 9 to 5 and free admission. When the old Riverdale zoo finally closed, the city transformed the space into a "farm". Whether you have kids or not, you'll enjoy seeing all the contented, well cared for farm animals, including horses, goats, pigs, sheep and chickens. Lots of free parking at the south end of the farm. It's next to Cabbagetown, a lovely walkable old neighborhood.
