This Norman Cathedral is modest but vast. So much history and culture in this beautiful building and its surrounds. Try to book a Tower Tour. It's not that high, but well worth seeing the normal hidden spiral staircases within the walls.

One of the most famous schools in the world. Preserves so many traditions and is a custodian of much of the open land around Winchester (like St Catherines Hill). Book a tour as then you can access some of the inner parts of the building. Look out for the boys wearing gowns who are the scholars that William of Wykeham originally wanted to be given 'free' education in order to join the church.

Ancient almshouse for the 'nobel poor'. A beautiful walk along the River Itchen. A beautiful chapel and brothers hall to look at. Ask for the Wayfarers Dole, a now token meal that used to be provided to passing pilgrims.
