If you want to invite someone over for a home cooked meal, but don't really want to cook, stop by Drew's on the way home and your friend will never know the difference!

WindMill Hot Dogs of Belmar

Perhaps the best Hot Dog you have ever tried. The Wind Mill restaurant has taken first place in the Asbury Park Press Readers Choice for best hot dog on the Jersey Shore year after year for a long as I remember. No trip to this area should consider itself complete without trying a hot dog at the Wind Mill.

The Wharfside Resturant

If you are looking for a place that is as far from a chain restaurant as a New England home converted to a restaurant, and you like seafood, this is the place I recommend. The tables may be a bit closer than you expect, and the noise level from other guests a bit louder, but someone the combination of white noise from all the chatter makes for a is very different and memorable shore experience.

Considered by many locals to have the best thin crust pizza on the Jersey Shore. One of my favorite places to go, sit at the bar, and eat pizza. Take out is also available.

A great way to start your day if you drink coffee. Just a 10-minute walk on Route 71 towards Belmar you'll find one of my favorite privately owned coffee shop. Visit the shop and be sure to tell Mike the owner that your are staying at Pasquale's Beach house. Mike has been working a special high quality Ice-Coffee that he supplies to local restaurants.

CJ'S Tavern

CJ's is only a couple minutes walk, on Route 71 towards Spring Lake in the first strip mall that you'll see. Its more of a locals place where you can stop for some food or a drink without driving, but it stands out in that they also sell beer, wine, and liquor. When I'm looking for a place to purchase package goods and every other place I know is closed, this is the place I go. Liquor is sold until 10PM every day, with beer and wine sold until closing.

D'jais Oceanview Bar & Cafe

Another top shore destination, across the beach in Belmar. As with many places at the shore, the clientele shifts depending upon the time and day of the week. When I was single and under 35 I considered D'Jais a "Don't Miss".

The Stone Pony

Almost everyone from the area thinks of Bruce Springsteen and South Side Johnny when they think of the Stone Pony. The place is legendary, and don't be surprised to run into someone from one of the bands in the area, especially at the Wonder Bar on the next block. If you're a Bruce fan, history has been filled with numerous occasions when Bruce makes a surprise appearance when South Side Johnny is playing in the area.

Starting in the summer of 2015, this outdoor patio, bar, restaurant, has become "the place to go". They have live entertainment on weekends. Many visitors catch the water taxi from Waypoints, and then visit other popular shore bars.

I always recommend to all of my guest to go to Point Pleasant boardwalk at least once. If you like bars, don't miss Jenkinsons (Jenks) and Martels. Children love the Aquarium and the boardwalk rides and arcades. The Rope Course with zip line is popular with adults and well as kids.

Orchard Park

There is a fantastic bike trail that goes from Manasquan to Allaire state park very close to the house. This is part of the Rails to Trails program and a great place to go for an easy (level ground) walk or bike ride. I love to go with my children too, as overpasses are provided to cross almost every street. Be careful when you get close the the Allenwood General Store, as there are a couple of streets to cross. Be sure to make a quick stop inside the Allenwood General store, and you'll feel like you went back in time.
