A charming, romantic place in the Gulf of Poets with bright houses, colourful fishing boats, a rose coloured, 16th-century Church of San Giorgio and quiet, narrow alleyways. A real gem hidden at the end of Liguria, close to the Tuscan borders. Tellaro is registered among the most beautiful villages of Italy (I borghi piú belli d'Italia). If you have a car you can drive here, enjoy the great views from the main square or from the lookout point near the Oratory of Santa Maria in Selaa and take time to walk around in the small passages. You could do a Lerici-Tellaro-Portovenere day trip, there is also a boat service between Lerici and Portovenere.

Genoa is world famous as the birth place of Christopher Columbus. The historic center is a maze of narrow streets (caruggi), beautiful squares and ancient historic shops. If you visit Genoa You have to find a bakery shop and taste the delicious "Foccacia di Recco" (with melted Stracchino cheese). The emblem of Genoa is the Lanterna, the lighthouse located in the Porto Antico, it is visible to all those who put in at the port, from whatever direction. Walk up the 375 steps to admire the beautiful panoramic view from its terrace. Also located in the Porto Antico is the Genoa Aquarium, it is Europe’s largest marine attraction hosting 800 different species and more than 10,000 marine creatures. Lucca is one of the beautiful cities in the Tuscany region, the perfect destination for a day trip from our property. The town has a lot to offer for curious travelers in search of beautiful scenic locations with a lot of history, architectural beauty and unique culture. Most of the attractions in Lucca today show its ancient history: from the trace of the Roman amphiteater that can be seen in the shape of the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro to the archeological remains under the 12th century church of Saints Giovanni and Reparata (the first city cathedral, located just around the corner from the present-day cathedral of San Martino), to the various towers and villas from the 12th to 16th centuries. Unusual for cities in the region, the walls around the old town were retained intact as the city expanded and modernized. As the wide walls lost their military importance, they became a pedestrian promenade ringing the old town although they were used for a number of years in the 20th century for racing cars. They are still fully intact today; each of the four principal sides is lined with a different tree species. For anyone who wants to see the city from a different perspective it’s possible to go up on the walls and walk on them as a pedestrian promenade or on a bike offering a marvelous view of the city and its surrounding landscape.

Barga is a beautiful old, walled town in northern Tuscany Standing on a wooded hill above the valley of the Serchio River, the walled settlement with its twisting flagged streets and grand palazzi is a time capsule of centuries-ago Italy. Stunning views, beautiful church (cathedral) with an exquisite history. It stands over Barga like a great protector. In July there takes place the festival of Barga Jazz, where local musicians perform in the open air in the evenings, and you can eat you meal al fresco to a musical accompaniment. The town has always attracted artists and writers, such as the great poet Giovanni Pascoli who made the town his home a century ago, and died there, in what he called "the land of the beautiful and the good." You can sit on the balcony at the Caffe Capretz, one of his favourite spots, and look over the flowers on the railings at the Apuane mountains. The composer Puccini was a friend of Pascoli and a regular vistor to Barga and a whole host of painters known as the Pascoli Generation found inspiration in the town, such as Cordati, Magri and Santini.
