Their food is authentic and the service is spot-on, friendly and knowledgable English speaking staff and their BBQ grills are more-ish, and great value. Good selection of beers, soju and reasonable corkage for BYO wine.

We're pretty fussy with Thai food and Maenam hits the spot when we want Thai locally. Newtown, I suggest has great Thai restaurants but when it's at your doorstep in Strathfield, it's too easy. Great if you want to have a drink and walk home.

When we want Italian, we do on a short drive to Concord which looks like a holiday destination with it's palm trees, californian bungalows and relaxed sea-side atmosphere. There are several restaurants to select from and you can choose where to eat once you've walked up and down the street. Make sure you park your car far away enough, so you have enough time to finish the gelato before you get back into your car. We tend to also bring home Italian bakery delights from Concord.
