Drinks & Nightlife

Two sides to this place, maybe three! On one, you have a cozy dark wood paneled pub like setting and a half dozen dining tables and on the other side it's still cozy, but brighter and more like an urban sports pub with lots of games on TV, shuffleboard and foosball tables. They often have light indie bands set up in the window on weekends. The third side would be the often overlooked beer garden in the back.

This is "Da Spot" for night life in A-town. If you want to listen to live music, dance your butt off and have a few drinks and mingle, this be the place.

Lighter bands for the mid to older set. It's a nice place to have a meal with friends/family or hop on a stool at the bar and swing around to listen to some good music and even take the dance floor. Mostly R&B and light rock/oldies. A local favorite.

You're going to want to see this. Masterful blending of human achievement and the raw power of nature; the bridge over troubled water. If you've got time and $10, get a pass and drive through the park down to the beach and frolic a bit. Lots of nature trails to explore. You can find free parking along the highway, but it just means you'll have to walk a bit further to the beach.

It's not the destination so much as it is the journey. Getting there is half the fun, is what I'm saying. The ferry ride from Anacortes through the San Juan Islands to Sidney, BC is nothing short of spectacular and highly recommended by this host. Even if you only make it as far as Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, the memory will last forever!
