The Hilltop Store chefs take pleasure in creating a seasonal ever-changing menu. Just like the surrounding landscape, they understand to truly connect people and community through food, they must provide unique experiences to entice and engage. Their food is refined yet unfussy and highly driven by the local region. The Hilltop Store provides its customers with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, combined to create memorable meals. Morning coffees are covered, breakfasts you can’t beat and a lunch menu that will have you longing, please check out the menu and see what we have on offer. While the food is amazing, if you’re after a quick takeaway coffee we recommend taking a stroll 50m to the end of the street to take in the breathtaking beach views from one of the park benches. Head down the stairs here for access to the beach with your dog.

If you’re after a dip but aren’t sure about braving the waves, check out the rockpool. It is a free public access saltwater tidal pool. While it is not a patrolled swimming spot it provides for a sheltered saltwater swimming spot without the worry of rip tides or waves.

A great (and cheap!!) outing for kids and adults! For $10 a kg you can pick your own spray and pesticide free blueberries from about November through to January. The season depends on weather and it’s best to check the FBook page - ‘Bucca Valley Blueberries’. Buckets are available from the weigh shed, with plastic bags for you to transfer your goodies into. Covered shoes are a must and keep an eye on littlies because there is a dam, and it is a rural property with plenty of wildlife (including snakes). Cash only honesty box, so bring small notes and coins. No dogs are permitted and there are no bathrooms. 411 Bucca Road, Bucca NSW

One of the best places for a relaxing dip close to the cottage and dogs are welcome! Head to the Sawtell Lookout on First Avenue Sawtell. Park in the bottom carpark and walk back towards the road. You will see a walking path headed down the hill along the railway line. You will need to cross the footbridge to the main beach access point for the creek. As long as there hasn’t been heavy rains the creek is a beautiful blue which runs out towards the surf of Boambee beach. Bring your lilo and join the locals taking their dogs for a dip and floating along the creek. 4wd access is permitted if you access the beach from the jetty. It is only recommended that you drive on the beach at low tide and are prepared for the soft sand entry through the dunes. Many locals park up for the day in summer with an eski and a bbq. This is a shared beach, so please be mindful of horses, 4wds and other dogs. There are no toilets!
