Food scene

Just look for the iconic fire tower and take a break for a drink, snack, or meal. Fire Tower is comfort food but a notch up. It's inspired by Vermont artisans and served in a rustic and relaxing dining room. Enjoy après ski drinks by the fire pits, share small plates or savor an intimate dining experience. They have a great selection of Vermont craft beer, as well as wine, cocktails, and hot cocoa (of course).

Right in the village, this place is always buzzing. It's known for steaks, ribs, burgers, seafood, sandwiches, fajitas, salads, and GREAT appetizers. There's a good menu for kids, too, as well as a game room to keep them happy while you enjoy an apre ski cocktail or cocoa.

This is a really cool outdoor bar. It's very popular after skiing/snowboarding. The bar features a lot of Vermont beer, as well as craft cocktails, house-made Mulligan's Bloody Mary drinks and mulled wine. The Bomb, a European drink mixing eggnog with brandy, is their specialty.

Neighborhoods

Stop at Manchester and stock up on groceries if you can. It gets more expensive for food and other stuff as you near the village. The designer outlets are also great for shopping. It’s just an adorable little town filled with history, hiking, great restaurants and more.

Swim hole

Use Maps to find Pike Falls. There’s a fun little swimming hole there that our kids love! About 7 min drive.

City advice

Getting around

Park your car and walk to the gondola, lifts, and village.

Our condo is right in Stratton Mountain Resort, where you can take the gondola to one of the highest peaks in Southern Vermont. From the top, you'll experience views of all the surrounding mountain peaks. In the village, you can explore the many wonderful restaurants, bars, and shops. From maple syrup to cheeses to micro-brews, we love the locally made treats.

It's easy to find events

Stratton has an events calendar online and posted in the village. You'll find live music, mountain yoga, and other fun stuff. It's updated weekly.
Don't miss

So much to do...

Golfing, mountain biking, scenic lift rides (go to the top on the gondola), shopping, great restaurants. You'll never get bored in any season.

Hiking

Stratton Mountain can be hiked in all seasons. It is best in early spring and early fall when foot traffic is light. It’s notorious for it's "mud season" in spring when the rains come. Fire Tower hike: Start at the Long Trail / Appalachian Trail parking area on Stratton-Arlington Road, hike up the Long Trail / Appalachian Trail for 3.8 miles until you reach the summit of Stratton Mountain. You will pass a small caretaker cabin right before the actual summit which has a fire tower. This trail has roughly 1,700 feet of elevation gain.

Stratton Mountain Hike

Use the ski resorts trails to ascend to the top of Stratton Mountain. At 3,940 feet this mountain peak is one of the tallest in southern Vermont affording scenery that stretches on for mile and miles.
