The 4 beaches that the fire Island ferries serve are all beautiful but quite unique in their individual offerings. Fire Island Pines & Cherry Grove Fire Island Pines is the upscale home to a predominantly gay community with an understated elegance during the day and an exciting nightlife. Their next door neighbor is Cherry Grove, Fire island’s other LGBQ community with wonderful restaurants and shopping, 2 hotels and arguably the wildest nightlife on fire Island Island. Residents are very active in their community, hosting many cultural events and fundraisers all season long. Sailors Haven / Sunken Forest: Sailors Haven is home to one of the best known areas of Fire Island National Seashore—the Sunken Forest. It is located near the center of the island, across the Great South Bay from Sayville, New York. It is accessible by Sayville Ferry, private boat, and foot only. In addition to a one and a half mile long boardwalk trail through the Sunken Forest, Sailors Haven also offers a visitor center; snack bar/convenience store/gift shop; picnic tables and grills; lifeguarded beach (summer only); a 45-slip public marina and public restrooms. Water Island: Water Island is a small, extremely private Fire Island beach community comprised of about 50 houses on modest plots of Fire Island real estate. With Davis Park to the East and Barrett Beach to the west, Water Island is far from the Fire Island beach civilization, creating a sense of privacy that is well-appreciated by its residents.

Sayville Farmers Market
For 40 years, The Sayville Chocolatier has been a staple in the quaint town of Sayville. With their first location on Railroad Ave, then on the corner of Candee and Main and now currently at 6 Main Street next to the old Thornhill's Pharmacy Building. Our mom, Mary Ellen Verbarg, and her friend, Donna Gestri, came up with the idea of opening up the business in the late 70's. Along with the guidance of Mary Ellen, the second generation of Chocolatiers are up to many exciting new things in the chocolate world. Stop in town and maybe you will see Chocolatier, Kate Verbarg, in the window at one of our machines.
