Sightseeing

This beautifully landscaped little park with its sweeping view of Ballard and the Olympic Mts. is a lovely .6 mile stroll from the apartment. Off the beaten path, it's one of Seattle's secret gems.

It's quintessentially Fremont, the troll under the bridge. A BIG troll under the bridge. With a real VW bug in it's hand. People climb on it. It's fun to imagine creating it.

Beach, sand, water (albeit cold!), a good playground, and a burger joint! Perfect for a day's outing, an evening date, or as a biking or running destination.

Food Scene

Our longtime favorite Fremont restaurant & bar. Fusiony upscale-ish Mexican food. We just love the atmosphere. Fun low lighting. Funky furnishings. Cool deck. We just feel so at home there.

Walk in. Sit down. Eat decent sushi. When you're hungry, or when someone near & dear is crabby & hungry, it's a quick fix. I feel better already!

I always leave thinking, "I love this place!" To me it is & has everything a good burger joint should: good messy burgers, a crowd, hopping service, a long menu, indoor/outdoor seating & atmosphere!

Essentials

A great local natural food chain with a good hot bar. Similar to Whole Foods, but sometimes cheaper, especially their deli. TERRIFIC attention to special diets, such as gluten free, vegan, etc.

Drinks & Nightlife

We don't get to go often because the family section is tiny, but I definitely remember a divine dessert and cool custom lighting. Of course, the drinks are great too!

Entertainment & Activities

Awesome place to get the ants out of the kids pants (toddlers - 5 yrs). Big, bright space with LOTS to play on. Separate space for the littlest ones. A Seattle institution!

While I haven't been to Turkey yet, it feels authentic to me with spices on the table, staff that speaks Turkish, and GOOD food!
