Near the town of Morrison. A nice place to visit even during the day, when there are no shows happening. There’s no cost. Just sweeping views of the foothills and Front Range. Also a great place to work out in the outdoors. A short 15 minute drive on I-70

City/town information

1.5 hour drive. Though it has “Park” in the name, it is actually a town. This is a great spot for tourists: Lots of shops, parks, lakes etc. Usually pretty busy. It is located just before the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. You don’t pay anything to visit the town, but there is a fee to enter RMNP.

Beautiful hip town with a unique personality. Visit the 16th street mall for nice shops and all sorts of restaurants. Chautauqua Park has tons of great hiking trails where you can see sweeping views of the front range. Mountain biking and rock climbing are quite popular in this area. Note that these trails stay pretty busy with people and their dogs.

One of Colorado's larger cities, this one is a college town. It has the best selection of breweries (beer and cider) and has it's own personality. Check out Old Town Ft. Collins for lots of shops. During the summer there are lots of music festivals.

Trails

Trail closest to the house: Clear Creek Trail. This is a mostly paved trail that is close to 20 miles in length. When you hop on it north of this house, where Otis St. dead ends, you can take it west into the city of Golden. If you travel east, you can take it to a network of trails to go lots of different directions. Whether you take it east or west, you’ll travel by lakes, parks, nature preserves, more industrial areas, and some residential areas, too. It is generally flat with occasional small hills. You can locate the trailhead by taking Pierce north until it deadends at 48th Ave. Go right (East) 1 block to Otis St., then take a left on Otis St which immediately becomes a downhill and leads straight to the trailhead. You can’t miss it - this trailhead is easy to find. West to Golden or East to many trails.
