Oldest operating court house this side of the Mississippi! Still in use and stepping into the courtroom feels like stepping back into 1854, when it was first built. Stop by for a free tour, or just enjoy the lawn and peaceful grounds.

Chocolate Soup is a local antique/gift shop that is very charming and loved by locals And travelers alike! I’ve included in in points of historical interest because it’s located in one of Mariposa’s first homes and visiting the space will definitely appeal to those who appreciate charming, vintage homes.

If you are walking the streets of Mariposa you can walk up to the old jail house (there’s a rumor it’s haunted, let me know if you visit it and agree 😂) it’s just a cool thing to see, there isn’t much to do there but look, read the plaque, and take a picture, but it’s worth the little walk if you enjoy strolling quite back streets. :)
