Ski resorts

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, known locally as A Basin, is among the closest ski areas to Denver and one of the most diverse. There are a good mix of groomers, moguls, steeps and bowl skiing. Situated in Summit County nearest Keystone, it’s smaller than neighboring resorts Keystone and Breckenridge, but it delivers a longer season and some of the most challenging terrain in the county. Early and late season, A Basin can’t be beat. A Basin is a great ski mountain located just a little over an hour from our location. Easy access, multiple levels of ski runs and a local favorite!

What sets Breck apart from the rest is the historic mining town of Breckenridge. It’s easily one of the nicest ski towns in Colorado. The ski slopes wind into the heart of downtown, which is packed with colorful shops and restaurants. One of the best places you will ever visit even if you don't ski! About an 1hr and a half from our location. Great ski mountain! Very charming and cool downtown area. The best of Colorado.

Copper Mountain is always worth the trip. It’s a big mountain with a lot of different terrain options: groomers, steeps, bowls, trees. Copper offers a big mountain experience within an hour and a half drive from Denver. Close to Breckenridge and Keystone. Copper is old school skiing and one of our favorites.

Keystone Ski Resort is a big Summit County resort, and one of the closest to Denver, at an hour and 15 minutes. Neighbor resort Breckenridge often overshadows Keystone in popularity, despite Keystone having more skiable terrain. Keystone also has the largest night skiing in Colorado, available on most weekends and holidays, so don’t worry about sleeping in! Aside from hitting the ski slopes, Keystone offers lots of other great winter attractions, like cross country skiing or a horse-drawn stagecoach.

Colorado’s closest ski resort to Denver, Echo Mountain Park is located in between Idaho Springs and Evergreen. It offers a convenient mountain and schedule for those along the Front Range. It’s a prime mountain for night skiing too near the capital city, and those looking to ski shorter, more unorthodox hours. It’s also perfect for freestylers and those looking to perfect their race craft. Beginner just learning their sport too will find a suitable home here.

Opened in 1974, it’s considered one of the country’s top ten roadside attractions, located on the famous Colfax Avenue. Even the building is magnificent, with its pink tower stretching 85 feet tall. The dome is 22-karat gold leaf and showcases a Quahuatomec statue, Aztec’s last emperor. The exterior fountain was sent in pieces from Mexico. Inside your attention will be immediately drawn to the waterfall. It imitates the cliffs of Acapulco, 30 feet high and the pool below is 14 feet deep. In total there are over 30 attractions, large banquet areas and private dining spaces. Reccently Casa Bonita was set to close due to the Covid Pandemic and cost of staying open. Luckily the creators of South Park have signed on the keep the doors open to this truly unique place. Hopefully early next year they will be up and running again!
