Starting from the cottage then taking in loweswater crummock water, buttermere, then climbing over the pass, visiting the slate mine, descending into beautiful borrowdale valley, then back via derwentwater and keswick. This makes a great circuit for a day out.

My favourite lake in the Lake District, a walk starting above Loweswater at Fangs brow is less than 10 minutes drive from the cottage, and then through the forest down to the lake - gorgeous!
