One of the 16 historic villages in Portugal which has its origins all the way to Roman time. It only got a road for cars in 1986. It's isolated position helped it to remain authentic whilst displaying how people lived not that long ago. A must-see. Several restaurants, souvenir shops, swimming facility in river and beautiful walks on century-old paths.

Sightseeing

It is a lovely little village showing an ancient way of life that is long gone with amazing views. It's quite a climb from Foz dos Barreiros but worth a visit and with a drink at the bar up on the hill as a reward.
