Beach

A little to the left of the property lies Walpole Bay with its stunning Victorian tidal pool. A firm favorite amongst locals, this beach is quieter than the main sands and very lovely.

One of our family favorites and much loved by food journalist Grace Dent (amongst others!), booking is definitely advised for this fantastic Italian eatery in the heart of Margate’s old town.

Our very local pub is the Rose in June, which is just a hop from Forts (3min walk) and really excellent but further into the old town is the George & Heart. Fantastic roasts -you must book!

Cliffs is a much loved local favourite A little walk into Cliftonville (Northdown Road) will lead you past the other newcomers to this growing scene and to this coffee shop / breakfast spot / record shop / yoga studio and Aveda hairdresser. All excellent offerings and with a small play area upstairs, it’s well worth a visit.

Great for families and sole travelers alike, there really are few places with a direct hit on the sunset. Best Pizzas this side of London too. Pet and family friendly. Do book.
