The Currumbin Rock Pools are a secret swimming hole, a mere fifteen minute drive from Currumbin Beach, is popular with locals and those who take the time to seek out this little treasure. The drive alone is worth the trip as Currumbin Creek Road follows the creek inland through the lovely, lush Currumbin Valley.
A part of Springbrook National Park, Cougal Cascades is home to a stunning waterfall and an easy, but beautiful, rainforest walk, suitable for all ages and abilities. Located about 20 kilometres inland from Currumbin Beach, the drive through the Currumbin Valley is a little bit windy in places but very scenic. Enjoy a picnic at the scenic Cougal Cascades. At the display shelter, read about the parks World Heritage values. Take the walking track past cascades and rock pools to the restored remains of a bush sawmill dating from the 1940s. As you walk, watch for the land mullet, the world’s largest skink.
