We lovely this winery for a breakfast treat, as it's one of the few that opens early. Book online for morning tea from 9.30 am and enjoy fizz and pastries. It also does great lunch and tours of the Melba Estate. Call ahead and see if the garden is open for a spot of croquet or a enclosed outdoor area for littles.

Warburton is a 30 minute scenic drive from our place. Park up at Little Joe's, have a pizza for lunch and enjoy an amble along the river. Beautiful way to spend a sunny afternoon (Little Joe's itself doesn't have views, but the river walk is lovely).

Our favourite for sparkling wine. Also a great set menu for lunch or casual tasting platter than you don't need to have booked a table for. The courtyard has giant lego, so a real hit if going with the children too.

This is the closest winery to our home and it's our absolute favourite. The view over the little lake from the deck is the beautiful and we love their cellar-door. You can eat in the restaurant or order awesome share-plates on the deck while you with your kids do rally-pollies down the hill. After all that, visit the adjoining Art Gallery.

Specialises in gin. The bar offers cocktails and snacks, and there's often a food truck too. Be prepared for queues at peak times, but it's worth the wait.

If you're eating at home, you must go to K & B for delicious foodie treats. Their cheeses are amazing! We're currently obsessed with Stone & Crow's Nightwalker, a camembert style cheese, though the options are endless and the gorgeous staff are always happen for you to have a little taste!

Open 9 am - 5 pm daily. Amazing place to visit, kids will love it! Spirits of the Sky Bird Show is a must-see and takes place daily at 12 pm & 2.30 pm. Our tip is to get there as the gates open in the morning - the animals are usually up and about as they've just been fed and you can beat the crowds.

If you’d like to see a lyrebird in the wild, this is the place to go. Gorgeous walk that takes about one hour and is a nice stroll with children. Be sure to wear long trousers though, as you can pick up a leach or two while ambling along side the weir.
