The BEST Pizza I've had ANYWHERE, located in Hazel Park This is Detroit's Famous deep dish pizza. 1-2 pieces and you're full! Definitely a must try for any pizza lovers! I'd also recommend the Antipasto Salad and the Bread Sticks.

I'm a Sushi Lover and have tried most of the Sushi places around Metro Detroit. Sapporo is at the top of my list when it comes to Sushi and Japanese Cuisine. Besides all the delicious roles, I recommend trying the Ahi Tower.

If you're coming to Metro Detroit, you have to get a Coney! These American restaurants will seem like they're on every corner as you're driving around, but the National Coney Island is the best, in my opinion. Coney Island is a cheap, quick, Detroit-favorite. I'd recommend trying (at least one) Coney Dog or some variation of a Chili/Cheese dog. I usually get a Chili/Cheese dog, cheese fries, and a Hani (my favorite sandwhich). This is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, or even a late night snack. Most of them are open till 2am or later.

My favorite breakfast place! The Jagged Fork is located in Grosse Pointe Farms, on the very east side of Metro Detroit. My go-to here is the Triple Triple Breakfast Skillet and a side of Cinnabun Pancakes. Their pancakes are amazing & they have such unique flavors. If you like Cinnamon Rolls, you'll LOVE these pancakes. Highly recommend checking out The Jagged Fork!

Don't forget about Dessert! The Detroit Cookie Company is one of my go-to Dessert places. I'd definitely recommend their cookie ice cream sandwich. They're definitely not the cheapest cookies, but they are some of the best in Metro Detroit!

You must try Erma's Frozen Custard, it's definitely a local favorite! If you're visiting Metro Detroit in the Spring, Summer, or Fall, then take a trip to Ermas one night. There are 3 locations, one in Warren (closest to my Airbnb), Saint Clair Shores (about 15 min east), and Shelby Twp (about 25 min north). Erma's Custard is cheap treat that we enjoy throughout the year. Every week, Erma's has 2 new flavors (on top of their dozens of regular flavors) that are specialty and only come around a couple times per year. Check this link to see their specialty flavors -https://www.ermascustard.com/weekly-flavors/ My favorite is the Vanilla Custard cone dipped in Oreos. If I'm lucky and land on one of their specialty weeks, I get the Monkey Business or Cinnamon Almond (my favorites specialty flavors).

Fall Favorites

If you're coming to Metro Detroit in the fall, I'd recommend going to one of the local Cider Mills. It wasn't until I moved to Florida for a few years that I really appreciated these Michigan treats. My favorite Cider Mill is Yates. The Cider Mill has something for everyone. Walking trails, fresh Apple Cider, warm Cinnamon Donuts, pumpkins, a petting zoo, and Donut Ice Cream Sundaes! Yes - I said DONUT ICE CREAM SUNDAES!! I really enjoy going to the Cider Mill. They're usually busiest on the Weekends, but it's a fun and friendly afternoon filled with people walking their dogs, feeding the ducks in the creek, eating sweets, and seeing the beautiful fall colors of Michigan.
