Amimoto has to be the best kept secret of Punta Gorda. We have dined there on several occasions and the food, service, and ambiance are exceptional. The small family business is located in a small strip mall in Punta Gorda. Japanese decor evokes a feeling of calmness and peace, and adds to a very relaxing dining experience. The varied menu includes small plates, entrees, and sushi, Everything is made fresh to order. For entrees, we have tried the salmon, tuna, tempura, duck, and pork tenderloin. All have been exceptional. Each entree comes with a lettuce salad, miso soup, three Japanese salads, 3 pieces of California roll, an orange, and the main feature. When we were there, the Japanese salads included a green seaweed salad, red seaweed salad, and cucumber salad. Entree portions are quite generous. The entire meal is a wonderful combination of tastes and textures. We also tried the sushi, which is made to order. The Punta Gorda roll, crispy roll, and vegetable roll were a delight to our taste buds. The service is outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable servers are committed to making sure the customer has an outstanding dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant for its delicious Japanese cuisine.

This small rather compact open air mall is a nice stop. Plenty of souvenirs and clothing to chose from. Great place to escape from the rain too. There are a few restaurants. Great for the mobility impaired as there are ramps along with the stairs. Walk on the marina side and enjoy the boats and the activity at the marina. They often have live music. Plenty of free parking and they offer a valet and a golf cart to pick you up in the parking lot if you like.

Parks & Nature

This is a sweet little recreation area. I've spent many hours teaching my daughter to swim in the public pool with the help of wonderful lifeguards. The beach area is small & crowded during g the season. A long pier extending into the harbor makes for good fishing & picturesque photo ops. There is an easy boat/kayak ramp with plenty of parking & free life vests on loan. There is a large facility available to rent for weddings or business events. There is also a playground, basketball court, restrooms & picnic shelters. Charlotte Harbor water is tannic, tea color, some people think it's dirty but it's brackish because the harbor is where fresh water from the Peace River meets salt water from the Gulf of Mexico. This is a great recreation area with something for everyone. I would prefer if parking were free but it's a County-run facility & local residents can't pick up the tab for all the visitors who enjoy this facility.

Great Beach. Easy parking, lots of shells. Bring snacks and drinks, chairs and an umbrella and stay a while. There was little to no seaweed and we found plenty of shark teeth.
