Bass Lake is a must see. It's a beautiful lake with stunning views. There are three restaurants on the lake. This is a great place to grab a burger with a few. I recommend "The Meal". It's a burger on sourdough bread with fries and a side-salad.

This place is amazing! It's a little further of a drive (still not far) and another great place or a burger and ice-cream. Make sure you take a walk out on the dock after you grab some food!

This is the third of three restaurants on Bass Lake. I love coming here for breakfast. The view is stunning. It's also great for lunch and dinner. They have a Bar and Grill upstairs and finer dining restaurant downstairs.

Favorite close hikes

This is an AMAZING hike and it's super close. This is a great hike to do on your first or last day of your stay as it's super close by and short. You can do the lower part of the hike, which is steep and includes a beautiful waterfall. You can do the upper part of the hike with is flatter and has a smaller waterfall. Or you can string it all together and do a nice long hike. Lastly, you can park in the middle and just walk to the waterfall and back for a very short jaunt.

Must sees in Yosemite

A list of the must-see things around Yosemite and the surrounding area.
You absolutely have to go to the valley floor and look up 1000m of granite rock. This is where the most famous feature of Yosemite reside: Half Dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls and many more.

You need to do three things to really see Yosemite: see it from the valley floor looking up, see it from the rim looking down and see the giant sequoias. This is the only place in Yosemite where you can drive to rim of the valley. There are other great ways to hike from the valley floor to the rim but if you are rushed to see it all, this is your best bet. Watching the sunset from here is incredible. If you are feeling up for a little bit of a hike and a little more solitude, check out Taft Point instead of Glacier Point. It's nearby and a few mile hike, but worth it if you have the time. If you do this, I would recommend going to Glacier Point and then hiking Taft Point for Sunset.

A must see. Go on a short hike and see the second largest living thing in the world: the Grizzly Giant (a giant sequoia tree).

This is a VERY short walk up to a nice starter waterfall. It's much smaller than the Yosemite Falls but still great to see because you can walk right up to the base of it!
