Food Scene

Cafe with sandwiches, pastries, beer etc. Friday night pizza, open mic nights occasionally and so forth. Great place! A scenic 10 minute drive from the loft, the General Store was also a set site during the newest Little Women film.

One can walk to Black Pond from our backdoor. It is a beautiful kettle pond. This is the trail map that shows the trails to Black Pond that are under conservation. Our road, Whitcomb Ave, becomes Littleton County Road, which is where the trailhead on this map begins. The map in the loft on the bookshelf roughly shows how to get from the loft to Black Pond. The online map shows the continuation of trails along Black Pond. You can hike all the way to the end of the trail and then return along the road to our house to make a loop. Walk out the backyard to start your hike there!

This is the land which abuts and surrounds our property. (You may notice from our mailbox that our house is the Smith house from that was separated from the land and we preserved from tearing down when we purchased the house) The link provides a trail map. If you walk directly back into the forest from the house, the old cart trail intersects with the trails; across the street is the trail down to Beaver Brook.
